Leap Day

Happy Leap Day birthday to me! Ted took the day off from work and we took Abigail to Pismo Beach for lunch at Mo's. Lunch was delicious however the weather was cloudy and cold so we hurried down to the pier to take a few pictures of Abigail's first trip to the beach and then we rushed back to the car to warm up. It was a wonderful birthday spent with my family.

Mommy's Little Rabbit

Abigail was born in the year of the rabbit and she wore her rabbit bib today.

Callie Card

I received this card in the mail today and it looks a lot like Callie.

Abigail uses a lot of her tummy time working her legs. She does move her neck from side to side and she has started using her arms to push up her torso. I am so proud of her.

Piranha

Ted, Abigail and I watched Piranha this evening. It was super cheesy but it was a nice mindless diversion. Ted and I were both so sleepy I don't think we could have focused on a movie that had a more complicated plot.

Beachside Cafe

My friends and coworkers threw a baby shower for Abigail in December 2011. I invited them to a thank you lunch which was originally scheduled for January 17, but seeing that Abigail was born on January 16 I had to cancel that lunch. We rescheduled for today and I met them at the Beachside Cafe in Goleta. Abigail stayed home with daddy and grandma. It was nice being off mommy duty for a few hours but I was happy to get home to see Abigail.

I saw this card the other day and just had to buy it for my friend Nicole who is pregnant. I think it is such a sweet card.

More Monkey Butt

Abigail has several outfits with monkeys on the butt. I can't resist taking lots of pictures of her monkey butt.

Goal!

This is one of Abigail's preferred sleeping positions. When I see her sleeping in this position I imagine, "Goal!" is running through her head.

Perhaps I should explain to Abigail again the definition of active tummy time.

Sleepy Tummy Time

Abigail does not enjoy being on her tummy when she is awake but she will sleep on her stomach for hours if we let her. Hopefully at some point she will start enjoying tummy time when she's awake since she is supposed to have at least 30 minutes of active tummy time every day.

Overly Optimistic

I don't know when I will have time to read five books, but I had to go to the library last Thursday to resolve a fine that was incorrectly applied to my account and while I was there I decided to check out some new books.

One Month Old

My daughter is one month old. How quickly time flies!

Abigail's First Valentine's Day

She was not very happy about it but I finally got Abigail dressed in her Valentine's Day outfit. The outfit was a gift from my boss Sharon. Even though it took a while, and a pacifier, to get her in the dress and sweater the end result was worth it.

Friends With Benefits

Ted and I actually watched an entire movie last night. We recently canceled our Netflix subscription because we realized that with a new baby in the house we don't have time to sit down for 2 hours and concentrate on a movie. We get Blockbuster movies for free with our cable subscription so we still receive those movies and last night we actually found time to watch Friends With Benefits.

Growing

Strong Legs

Abigail showed off her strong legs today during her tummy time. She seems to enjoy exercising her legs while she's on her tummy.

Butterflies

I wanted to capture Abigail in this cute butterfly onesie but I like this picture the best, even though you can't see the two purple butterflies.

Mommy Gets Her Act Together

I finally got my act together today and Abigail and I went for a nice long walk this afternoon. The weather was perfect for an afternoon stroll and I'm so glad we got to enjoy the warm weather.

Ladybug

You can't really tell from this picture but Abigail is wearing a cute ladybug shirt and little pink panties that were a gift from my friend Ann. I thought it was a cute outfit for her to wear while leaning up against her ladybug boppy pillow.

I hope my Abigail always has sweet dreams.

Sheep Rug

My friend Kitty gave Abigail this sheep rug. I put it on the floor in Abigail's nursery yesterday and she enjoyed her first experience on the rug this morning. She wasn't on it too long but she did seem to enjoy it.

Fun With Grandma

My mom has been visiting for the last two weeks and tonight is her last night with us. It's been wonderful having her here to spend time with Abigail, Ted and me. We are sad to see her go.

Tummy Time

We saw Abigail's pediatrician yesterday and he said Abigail should have tummy time every day. My mom and I introduced Abigail to tummy time this afternoon and she loved it. She stayed on her stomach for 25 minutes and was happy as a clam.
