Ted's dad is staying with us for a few weeks. He announced last night that while he is visiting he does not want to eat Korean food, he only wants to eat American food. Translation... fast food (e.g. Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza, etc.). Therefore we had KFC tonight for dinner.

Fresh & Easy

A new grocery store, Fresh & Easy, opened today in Lompoc. I can't wait to check it out and use the $5 coupon.

T.M.X.

A lady I work with loves Elmo. She has the T.M.X. Elmo that lays down and rolls around on the ground while laughing. I don't understand the appeal of Elmo, so she brought it in for me to see and it is pretty funny. I didn't get a picture of Elmo rolling around on the ground, but this is a picture of his carrying case.

Lompoc Dog Show

Ted and I attended the 48th and 49th annual Lompoc Valley Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Shows today. There were so many beautiful and interesting dogs. Ted overheard one of the owners say to two other people as we were walking by, "I am a competitive woman and I have beautiful bitches." That pretty much sums up the vibe of the dog show. It reminded me so much of the movie, Best in Show. Fabulously hilarious and true to life movie.

Double Shot: Part Two

I had the great fortune of visiting with Carolyn and Ilaria again after work today. When I arrived Ilaria was sleeping in her swing, but once Vince arrived home she was raring to go. The second picture is of Ilaria and Vince showing me her fancy foot moves.

Double Shot: Part One

It's been over two weeks since I've seen her, and Ilaria has grown so much. This afternoon she enjoyed playing with her doll and being held by mom. Look at that sweet face!

No Late Fees For Me

I know this picture is a bit hard to see/read, so let me explain. When I received my July Bank of America (BOA) credit card statement I was dismayed to learn that my June payment had not been received and BOA had charged a $39.00 late fee. I immediately called BOA and was told they would not even consider reversing the fee until they received my June and July payments in full. I mailed the payment post haste, and called BOA this morning after confirming my payment was received. I found out there was an issue at one of BOA's payment processing centers, and all of the payments received June 14-29 were not processed. The rep confirmed my payment was sent to that processing center. The great news is the late fee and any interest will be reversed. I was so glad to hear that it was a glitch on BOA's end, and not me somehow forgetting to send payment. All's well that ends well.

Target

A friend of mine recently moved into a new apartment. She has been having a bit of a rough time recently, so I bought her two Target gift cards to celebrate her new apartment. Who doesn't love target?

Big Winner

Ted played in a poker tournament at Chumash Casino today. He placed 57 out of 660 players and won $500. This is a picture of his winnings minus the tip to the dealer. Way to go Ted!

Fun In The Sun And Carne Asada Too

My company participates in the Santa Barbara United Way Fun in the Sun Lunch Bunch program each year. This was the first year I was able to participate and I had a great time. We went to Ellwood Elementary School and after eating lunch we played outside with the kids. The kids range in age from 6-13 and they have so much energy. This evening Ted and I had dinner at Lilly's in Santa Barbara. They make delicious Carne Asada. So yummy.

Independent

There is nothing too exciting about this week's The Independent, but I didn't take any other pictures today, so here it is.

Doubt

I started watching Doubt this evening. It is not what I expected. At this point I have watched over half of the movie so I feel like I should commit to watching the rest, but I don't know if I want to.

Poor Callie

Sometimes I feel bad for Callie when she has to endure things that Ted and I find hilarious. Needless to say she did not find this laundry basket jail funny at all.

Tommy Hilfiger

The jury is still out on this tote bag I bought over the weekend. However, since I cut off the tags I guess I'm keeping it.

Gym Motivation

On Friday I bought two magazines, and Ted happened to by me two others. I was well stocked for gym reading this weekend.

Yes Man

I'm not a big fan of Jim Carey, but Ted convinced me to watch Yes Man with him. I have to admit it is pretty hilarious.

New Jewelry

I don't wear jewelry often, but I saw these two bracelets and this necklace over the weekend and I decided to buy them. Hopefully I will wear them

Chelsea Handler

I love Chelsea Handler so I ordered her book, Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. It arrived in the mail today. Yea!

New Books To Read

I took advantage of taking yesterday off and went to the library. Fortunately this time I found four new books. Much better luck than the last time I went to the library.

Saletti's

Today is Suzie and Quincy's last day in CA so we took them to Saletti's for dinner. We had the opportunity to eat several types of cuisine during their visit and figured we would round it out with Italian.

This afternoon Suzie, Quincy, and I went wine tasting in Santa Ynez. The weather was absolutely perfect for an afternoon touring wineries.

Happy 4th Of July/Happy Birthday Callie

Happy 4th of July everyone! Our friends, Vince, Carolyn, and their daughter Ilaria joined us this afternoon for a bar-b-que. They brought over Wii Fit and Ted and I tried it out. Some of the games are very addictive. Ted and I may have to get Wii Fit after all. We also celebrated Callie's 11th birthday today. Vince and Carolyn bought Callie some fun toys which she enjoyed playing with. After Callie's birthday festivities we drove to Pismo Beach for dinner and to watch fireworks.
