My boss went to a luncheon yesterday and got all kinds of treats. She knows how much I love bubble gum so she snagged me some Bazooka gum.

Composition Notebooks

This quarter I have to keep a journal for my class. The instructor asked us to purchase two spiral bound notebooks to keep our journals. I definitely felt the back-to-school spirit when purchasing these notebooks.

Singing For The Unity Shoppe

My company is a sponsor of the Santa Barbara Unity Shoppe's Holiday Drive. Today we recorded their annual holiday song which airs during the Unity Shoppe telethon. We sand the song, "It's Christmas Once Again in Santa Barbara" written for this occasion by Grammy award winning songwriter Barry DeVorzon.

Cracked

I found this crack on the back of my trunk this afternoon. It was a very unpleasant surprise. Hopefully it won't cost too much to repair.

Hamlet 2

Ted and I watched Hamlet 2 this evening. It is a very silly and funny movie.

These Boots Are Made For Walking

My new cowboy boots arrived today in the mail. I feel I can never have too many pairs of cowboy boots. My husband Ted does not agree.

Update For My Eyes

I had my annual eye check-up today. Fortunately everything looks good and I purchased a year's supply of contacts that has a $100 rebate. Who hoo.

Past Due Book

Unfortunately the last set of books I checked out from the library are due tomorrow. I was in the middle of reading one of the books, but I wasn't able to renew online because someone else was waiting to check it out. The good news... I was able to check out new books.

Fresco Cafe North

Ted and I ate at Fresco Cafe North this evening. It was so yummy. I even have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Yea!

Los Padres National Forest

After getting my hair cut this afternoon I met Ted at Chumash Casino for dinner. I drove through Los Padres National Forest and it was a beautiful day so I stopped and snapped a few pictures.

Broke Down

Our trusty Mustang broke on the way home this evening. Fortunately we were less than 1 mile away from our house when it died. Another great thing is that we have AAA. They sent a tow truck quickly and we were able to get on with our evening. We are taking it to the doctor tomorrow to see if they can make it feel better.

Ilaria Is Hooked

Ted and I met Vince, Carolyn, and Ilaria for dinner at Outback this evening. We haven't seen them in a few weeks and we were amazed at how quickly Ilaria is growing. She is quite the little lady.

Perfect Push-ups

I recently bought Perfect Push-up and my husband laughed at me when it arrived in the mail yesterday. I say he can laugh all he wants, but I will have the last laugh when Perfect Push-up helps me develop toned arms.

San Francisco

My coworker Dan went to San Francisco last week and he brought me this fun pen.

The birthday cake served today in my office for employees with birthdays in September was particularly delicious.

Callie's New Resting Spot

Callie has discovered a new place to rest... the laundry basket. Fortunately we aren't currently using it so Callie can use it to her heart's content.

Snapping It Old School

I recently uncovered my Canon EOS Rebel-G camera. It's been years since I've used it, but I love looking at printed pictures so I am going to put it into my camera rotation. I'm sure I'll still take mostly digital pictures but I am excited about using a manual camera again.

Two Times The Fun

I caught Callie in an unflattering pose this evening which makes her look twice as wide as she really is. She still looks adorable so of course I had to snap a picture.

More Books

I read Ragtime a few years ago but it is a wonderful story and I look forward to reading it again. All of the other books are first time reads for me.

Afternoon At The Races

We went to the horse races at Del Mar today. I have never been to the racetrack so this was a brand new experience for me. Although I never got the hang of betting this was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Feeling Hot, Hot, Hot

Today was very hot and humid in southern California. After breakfast Carol and Adam took us on a walking tour of their neighborhood and community. Even though it was only 9:00 in the morning it was already so hot that by the time we got back to their house we were pretty much done for the day. We ended up spending the rest of the day relaxing at their house. We did venture out for sushi for dinner.

Amtrak Surprises

Ted and I were so excited about taking the train to visit Carol and Adam for the long Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, not 10 minutes into the trip, someone decided to commit suicide by running in front of the train. Our train was delayed two hours as the Santa Barbara police conducted their investigation. That was not the best way to start off our trip, but after we were able to continue on the trip was enjoyable and the scenery beautiful.

Pink Bike

This bike belongs to one of the ladies on the housekeeping staff in my office. I like the fact that it is pink.

Vegetables

Our neighbors Kathy and Winnie keep us stocked with fresh vegetables. This is the latest bunch they brought over- tomatoes, zucchini, and green pepper.

Earth And PS3

My very thoughtful husband bought me the movie Earth today at Costco. I've wanted to see this movie since it came out in the theaters last April and now I'll get to see it on Blu-ray, which brings me to Ted's second purchase today... a PS3. Ted has wanted PS3 for many months and he finally bought one today. He will get to play games and we can both watch movies on Blu-ray. Fun for both of us.
