Fun In The Bumbo

By the look of Abigail in the first picture one might think she loves sitting in her Bumbo chair.  One would be wrong.  She is happy in it for 2-3 minutes then wants to get out.  Perhaps she needs time to get used to it.  The second picture I couldn't resist posting  because I think she looks so darling in her highchair and pretty pink bow.

Hair Bow

Abigail received lots of hair bows as gifts at her baby shower and I decided to try them out.  I wasn't sure whether she would like having something on her head but she did not mind at all.

Goleta Beach

The weather was so lovely yesterday that after the crawfish party we went to Goleta Beach to take advantage of the sun.  Abigail was awake the entire time at the party so she was ready for a nap as we walked along the pier.

We bought Abigail a Bumbo and she tried it out for the first time today.  We think she likes it!

Even though she isn't quite big enough for her activity center she loves playing in it so I've started putting her in it for a few minutes several times a day.

Sitting Up, Sort Of

Abigail enjoys sitting up so we have recently started propping her up with cushions so she can be upright and enjoy the view.

I had a dental appointment this morning in Santa Barbara and after my appointment Abigail and I went for a walk, taking advantage of the gorgeous weather.  Abigail fell asleep toward the end of our walk and I snapped this picture of her in front of some pretty flowers we passed.

Happy Mother's Day

This was my first Mother's Day with Abigail and it was nice spending the day with my daughter.  This evening I read a story to her and I think it is appropriate that we read, "Are You My Mother?" on Mother's Day.

Pismo Beach

As an early Mother's Day celebration Ted, Abigail and I went to Pismo Beach this afternoon.  When we arrived the weather was overcast, windy and cold.  Fortunately it warmed up while we were eating lunch and we were able to walk down the pier and enjoy the afternoon at the beach.

Silly, Sweet Girl

My silly, sweet Abigail has recently started gnawing on her teething rings.  She loves to grab them and in her mouth they go!

Afternoon Walk

Abigail and I stopped to enjoy our neighbor's flower garden on our walk this afternoon.  Beautiful.

Sleeping In Her Crib

Abigail's pediatrician suggested we start the transition from her sleeping in her bassinet in our room to sleeping in her crib in her nursery.  I don't know if I am ready for Abigail to sleep in her nursery at night.  We decided to start having her take naps in her nursery to see how that goes.  The transition will probably be harder for me than for Abigail.

Photo Album

Ted and I put this photo album together for my parents as a joint mother's day and father's day gift.  Abigail and I mailed it to my parents yesterday.

Abigail Visits The Library

Abigail had her very first visit to the Lompoc library this afternoon.  We checked out five books for her and four books for me.  I was so excited to introduce Abigail to the library and I look forward to many more trips to the library with Abigail.

Swing Time

We borrowed this swing from our friends Carolyn and Vince.  We decided not to attach the mobile bar to the swing because Abigail seems content watching the arm of the swing as she rocks back and forth.

Fun With Yoni

This morning we stopped by to see our friend Yoni.  We haven't seen her for a few weeks so it was fun having her see how much Abigail has grown since the last time we saw her.  

Fun With The Mobile

Abigail has recently discovered the mobile that hangs above her bassinet.  She loves to watch the bears go around in a circle and she dances and sings with the music.

Abigail Rolls Over!

Abigail rolled over from her back to her stomach for the first time today.  She was playing on her activity mat and suddenly she rolled herself over and was on her tummy.
