Callie's First Day

Today was super busy and I did not have time (scratch that, I did not make time) to take any pictures. Instead I found the very first pictures we took of Callie when we adopted her on 7/3/2004. I've always loved this picture because it shows her taking it all in trying to decide what she thinks about her new digs. Fortunately it only took her about one hour to make our house her home.

Morgan Freeman

This is the second movie I watched in two days that starred Morgan Freeman. I enjoyed them both.

Wanted

Ted and I saw the movie, "Wanted" this afternoon. It enjoyed it however it was much more graphic than I had anticipated.

Happy 4th Of July

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!! Ted and I went to Pismo Beach this afternoon to celebrate. The weather was beautiful and as you can see the beach was packed. The third picture is to the right of the pier and the forth pictures is to the left of the pier. The picture of Ted and me was taken about 1/2 mile from the beach overlooking the pier.

Gap Fire

The Gap Fire is still raging in the foothills of Goleta and Santa Barbara. Fortunately no structures have been damaged yet. The first three pictures were taken in Goleta this evening around 7:00. The sky is black with smoke and ash is raining down. The last picture was an unexpected friend we saw in the parking lot on the way to our car.

Wildfires

It is fire season in CA and fires are raging in the mountains overlooking Goleta and Santa Barbara. I took the first picture on Hwy 101 around 7:30 pm and you can clearly see where blue sky ends the wall of heavy smoke begins. I took the second picture on UCSB's campus and you can see the strange light that is cast by the fire; hazy and smoky. Very scary stuff.

Washington DC

This picture was taken during Ted's and my trip to Washington DC last October. I thought it was appropriate to post since July 4th is coming up soon.
