First Full Day In Paris: Part One

Today was our first full day in Paris and it could not have been a more beautiful day to start our vacation. Recognizing our jet-lag we slept until 10:30. Regardless of our late start we were able to fit in a lot of sight-seeing and relaxing over good food. The weather was amazing- bright blue sky, white puffy clouds, and around 70 degrees. It was a wonderful day to walk around and explore the city.

We Are In Paris!

We arrived in Paris this afternoon after three non-eventful flights (thank goodness!). So naturally what's the first thing I do? I spot a McDonald's in the Charles De Gualle airport and insist on having my picture taken. I have no idea why I am fascinated with American cultural icons in other countries. Luckily I also snapped this much more Paris appropriate picture, our first view of the Eiffel Tower, while walking to our hotel. We really are in Paris.

Bon Voyage

Ted, Baby Chi and I left for Paris this afternoon. We flew out of the new and improved Santa Barbara airport terminal. We arrive in Paris tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m. This is the longest we've flown in years. Wish us luck!

Reconnecting

Ted and I met our friend Michele in Solvang for brunch this morning. Michele is actually the person who introduced Ted and me. Even though we keep in contact through facebook we have not seen her for at least 4 years so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to reconnect with her in person.

Herb Home Thai

Ted and I tried a new restaurant in Lompoc this evening, Herb Home Thai. It was only their second night being open, and although the service was a bit slow the food was quite good. We will definitely eat there again.

Holiday Cards

We received these holiday cards form the World Wildlife Fund for our donation. They are actually very nice cards.

Cleared To Fly

We had our routine pregnancy checkup this afternoon and both baby and I checked out beautifully. We got the go-ahead from our Ob-Gyn that mommy and baby are safe to travel. Paris here we come!
