My supervisor Sharon bought me this book at the SBHRA annual conference last week. I've heard many great things about this book and I look forward to reading it.

Creepy And Sweet

A mixture of creepy and sweet was the mood in my office today in celebration of Halloween.

My coworker Sue made cupcakes for Racel's birthday. Not only am I impressed with Sue's decorating skills but the cupcake was quite delicious too.

Mission Fun

We went to the La Purisima Mission with Carolyn, Vince, and Ilaria this morning. There were lots of animals to see and we brought carrots, apples, and Cheerios to feed them.

Brothers

Ted and I watched Brothers this evening. It was an interesting story but the storyline was quite different than what I expected.

Love Yourself Enough To Love Others

I found this old Employee Assistance Program (EAP) flier in the break room of one of my company's remote offices. I am a huge advocate of EAP programs however I find the wording of this flier disturbing. The section about "self-love" is particularly disturbing. Needless to say I immediately removed the flier and threw it away. Of course I took a picture to memorialize it for my blog before throwing it in the garbage can.

Seminar Swag

I attended 401k a seminar today and received a tote bag with lots of goodies including another tote bag. Two more reusable bags I can use when I go grocery shopping. Woo hoo!

It's That Time Of Year Again

It's starting to get dark a little earlier in the evenings so I pulled out my reading light Ted bought me a few years ago. It's very useful and allows me to read on the drive home in the evenings.

ASPCA 2011 Calendar

Ted and I made a donation to the ASPCA and we received this 2011 calendar as a thank you gift for our donation.

Ted and I watched The Ghost Writer last night. It's a good movie with an interesting twist at the end.

Shiny New Penny

I went to In-N-Out today for lunch and after I paid for my meal I received two pennies in change. They are both brand new shiny pennies with the new design on the back.

Borrowed Books

I also stopped by the library on my day off Monday so now I have lots of new books to read.

New Books

When I was in Santa Barbara yesterday I stopped by Barnes and Noble to use a gift card I've had for a while and I purchased these new books.

Garrett's Restaurant

Even though my office is closed today I had a doctor's appointment at 8:00 in Santa Barbara. Since I had to get up early on my day off I decided to treat myself to breakfast at Garrett's Restaurant after my appointment.

Lazy Acres Swag Bag

Lazy Acres handed out phenomenal swag bags at the Heart Walk yesterday. Inside this reusable bag they included great treats like Cabo corn tortilla chips, dark chocolate almond granola cereal, gourmet coffee, buffalo and cranberry beef jerky, bottled water, Burt's Bees milk and honey lotion, and lots more. One of the best swag bags I've ever received.

Santa Barbara Heart Walk

After 3 1/2 months of training my team and I completed the Santa Barbara Heart Walk this morning. It was a beautiful day for a walk.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

Ted and I watched Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time last night. I guess it's more accurate to say Ted watched the movie and I watched for about 20 minutes before falling asleep.

Burger Bus

My friend Carolyn and I had lunch at the Burger Bus today. Carolyn had a cheeseburger and I had a grilled cheese sandwich and we shared yam fries. The food was so delicious and I can't wait to go back.
