Family

I went to NC for my mom's 65th birthday. My family got together on Sunday for lunch to celebrate her birthday. Pictured are (from top left moving clockwise): Uncle Earl, Dad, Suzie, Mom, Me-Maw, Aunt Mary. I'm so glad I had the chance to go home, see family, and help my mom celebrate her birthday.

Mavis

My flight to NC was uneventful. Upon arrival in Raleigh I met my friend Mavis at her flat in Durham. We went to dinner at Rodeo and then had dessert at Francesca's. Very delicious. It was a great way to start my trip in NC.

*These pictures were taken on 8/30/2008, however I did not have a chance to post them until today.

Tabloids

I bought these magazines in preparation for my flight Saturday. Now I just have to refrain from reading them before then.

Pacific Ocean

This is a picture of the Pacific Ocean viewed from Goleta Beach. The view was so nice I decided to capture it in a picture.

Callie In Motion

I couldn't resist posting the picture I took this evening of Callie bounding up the stairs. When Ted and I are upstairs she has the cutest way of sitting quietly at the bottom of the stairs looking up. It's almost as if she is waiting for us to invite her to join us. So cute.

Wedding Flowers

I took a few pictures today but nothing that I feel like posting. Instead I decided to post a picture from our wedding taken by Saori. The florist did a phenomenal job with all of the flowers. Although I love this picture it does not do the arrangement justice.

Sequence

Ted and I played a few games of Sequence this afternoon. It's been a while since we've played board games. It was a nice way to pass some time.

Once

Today was a big movie day. I watched Once (which was not as good as I had hoped) in the morning and Ted and I saw Tropic Thunder in the afternoon. Even though the humor in Tropic Thunder is very crude it is a very funny movie. For me Tom Cruise's character is the funniest part of the whole movie.

Callie Won

Callie was playing in her kitty tent earlier tonight and she pounced on it and it collapsed. She then proceeded to sit on top of it. Callie was very proud of herself and we declared her the winner.

Gas

This is the first time in months I have seen gas for less than $4 in our area. It makes me very happy, but at the same time sad when I remember that when I started driving at age 16 gas was $.98/gallon.

More Books

Two more books I just read. Yea for books!

Scrabble

Since I did not post a picture for August 19th I thought I would post an old picture. I posted a picture today of the game Sequence and it reminded me of the picture I took of our Scrabble board. I bought this game for Ted for Valentine's Day 2007. This is a picture of our first game.

Waitress

I watched this movie tonight. It didn't end the way I had hoped but it was surprisingly sweet. It made me cry.

Vantage Point

After a super busy day yesterday Ted and I decided to take it easy today by enjoying the beautiful summer weather and partaking in one of our favorite pastimes- watching a movie.

LA Dodgers

Saturday Ted and I went to the LA Dodgers game with Carol, Adam, Arthur, and Saori. It was a long day but we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately the Dodgers did not win but we still had a great time. The first picture is Ted, Adam, Carol, Arthur, and Saori before the game. The second picture is Ted, me, Adam, Arthur, and Saori before the game. Anthony Kiedis pitched the ceremonial first pitch. Pictures 4-7 are of us in the stands and a view of the field. It was fireworks night at Dodger Stadium so the last few pictures are shots of the fireworks.

The Center Of The Universe

Here I am standing at the center of the universe on the UNM campus in Albuquerque, NM. I still have not figured out why it's called the center of the universe but I guess it doesn't really matter. It was nice to think that even for a split second the universe revolved around me.

Albert Jean

AJ
and I have been good friend since high school. I've been thinking about him a lot lately so I decided to post a picture of us. Here we are on top of Sandia Peak in Albuquerque, NM in July 2006.

This is one of several interesting sculptures I pass on my way to class at UCSB.

Ice Cream

This may be my favorite ice cream ever. I am an ice cream-aholic, and have tried my fare share of ice cream over the years. I can eat this entire container in two days.

Another Book

Yep... Another book. The storyline is silly but that's okay by me. Any book that keep me away from watching TV is a good thing.

*I was too lazy to post a picture yesterday so this is my post for 8/11/2008.

Batman

Much to Ted's delight we saw The Dark Knight today. It was actually pretty good. I'm a huge fan of Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman.

Winnie The Pooh And Friends

I bought these candy dispensers at Walgreens today. For me it's a perfect combination- candy (which I love) in Winnie the Pooh and Friends dispensers. Winnie the Pooh was my absolute favorite character growing up. I still have my Winnie the Pooh blanket and stuffed animal my parents gave me when I was 2 years old. I mean seriously, could they be any cuter?

Dinner With Friends

Ted and I had dinner with our friends Allisa and Chris this evening. We have not seen them since our wedding in March so there was quite a bit of catching up to do. After a yummy dinner of sushi we decided to top off our meal with Cold Stone ice cream which was even yummier.

Wills

I enrolled in a Pre-Paid Legal Services plan through my company today. One of the services offered through the plan is will preparation. So my husband and I are going to have wills drawn up. This will (no pun intended) be my first will.

More Reading

Another book to read. Yea!

Celebutants

I have been starved for new books to read so I finally went to the library last Saturday. I finished this book today at lunch. It wasn't the greatest but it was a quick, fun read.

Stationary

Michael's is having a Dollar Days sale so I went yesterday to check it out. I purchased blank note cards and a "to do" list notepad with my last name initial on them. I love sending notes to friends and family and I am obsessed with making lists, so I felt these purchases were quite a bargain for $2.

Happy Birthday Nicole And Danielle

Today is Nicole and Danielle's birthday. Nicole and Danielle are two of my very best friends. I have been friends with Nicole since middle school, and Danielle was my roommate for two years in college and we have been great friends ever since. The picture of Nicole and me was taken in San Simeon, CA in April 2005. The picture of Danielle and me was taken at a Diamondbacks game in Phoenix, AZ in April 2007.

Fiesta And Edomasa

Ted and I headed to downtown Santa Barbara after work today to take part in the Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebration. A lot of what happens during Fiesta is that people get raging drunk. Since we weren't in the mood to get plastered we just walked around a bit looking at the crafts. The first three pictures are views of Fiesta. Once we had our Fiesta fill Ted suggested we have dinner at Edomasa, the Japanese restaurant where we had our first date 6 1/2 years ago. Very sweet.

The Palm

Ted and I spotted John Palminteri on the streets of Santa Barbara this evening reporting on Old Spanish Days. We listen to his radio news broadcast on the way to work so it was cool to see The Palm in action.

I was too lazy to take and post a picture yesterday, so this is my entry for 7/31/2008.
