My Sort Of Birthday

What a fantastic (sort of) birthday. The sun was shining, the air was warm, and I got to spend the day with my favorite person- my husband Ted. After breakfast Ted and I went to La Purisima Mission and fed the animals. Once we got home I opened my birthday present, a car kit (complete with jumper cables) which is exactly what I wanted. After a quick workout we went to see Shutter Island. A great day all around. It's hard to believe another year has come and gone.

Picture #3: The donkeys pleading with us for more treats.
Picture #4: The horses trying to convince us to give them more carrots.
Picture #5: It's hard to tell but the sheep are actually running (pretty fast I might add) to get treats.

New Pajamas

I bought myself these pajamas for my birthday. I saw them in the gift shop at the Chumash Casino spa this afternoon after my massage and foot reflexology appointments (a glorious birthday gift from Ted). I normally don't browse gift shops and it's even less frequent that I purchase something from a gift shop but the color and pattern of these pajamas jumped out at me and I figured tomorrow is my sort of birthday so why not?

Pre-Birthday Festivities

My birthday festivities began today with a decorated office (courtesy of Sharon and Peggy), a birthday cake (courtesy of Dan), several cards and a gift (courtesy of Kitty, Sharon, and Peggy). It got even more festive when I got home and opened a card from my good friends Carolyn, Vince and their daughter Ilaria. What a fantastic way to start off a birthday weekend. Thank you everyone!

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

Ted and I watched G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra this evening. It was pretty bad. Of course I only made it through the first 30 minutes of the movie before falling asleep but let me tell you those 30 minutes were bad.

Coach Wristlet

My sister-in-law Carol and her husband Adam gave me this Coach wristlet for my birthday. When we were in Las Vegas in December I mentioned I wished I had a wristlet to carry my license, money, chapstick, etc. They remembered and bought me this beautiful wristlet. Thank you Carol and Adam!

Family Pictures

Nancy, Kris, Brandon, and Dylan are visiting from Seattle. The weather in Seattle is cold and rainy so I'm glad it was sunny and warm while they were here. Monday we all went to the park to enjoy the warm sun and blue sky.

More Shopping For A Cause

In addition to the t-shirts I bought two luggage tags and a passport cover from the Hunger Site. All of the proceeds go toward assistance for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Shopping For A Cause

I receive an email each day from the Animal Rescue Site reminding me to click to help fund food and care for animals. There are a number of different sites you can go to each day to help save rain forest habitats, help fund free mammograms, and help fund purchasing books for children. I purchased these t-shirts from the Breast Cancer Site and the Hunger Site and the money I spent goes toward assistance for the victims of the Haiti earthquake as well as to fund free mammograms. If you don't already receive the daily email reminders I encourage you to register today: www.theanimalrescuesite.com.

Santa Claus Booties

Ted's parents arrived today and they brought me these Korean house slippers. They are lined with a soft fleece and they are very comfortable. Our nephew Brandon calls them Santa Claus booties because one pair Ted's mom wore when she was visiting Brandon reminded him of Santa Claus.

A Super Bowl Party Built For Two

I threw a Super Bowl party today and invited one person... my husband Ted. I bought all kinds of yummy junk food and we pigged out while watching the New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl for the first time in the history of their franchise.

I Love A Good Rebate

I received a $100 rebate for purchasing a 1 year supply of Acuvue contact lenses. I wish they had sent a check instead of a debit card but $100 is $100.

Saletti's

Surprisingly we won a $50 gift certificate to Saletti's restaurant from Erik Krebs Automotive, where we take our cars for service. Apparently they have a drawing each month and this month Ted and I are the winners.
