Packing Again

As much as I enjoy traveling I don't enjoy packing. Regardless, Ted and I leave tomorrow morning for the Bay Area to visit our friends Bryce and Nicole so I better start packing.

New Contact Lens Carrying Case

I purchased this fun contact lens carrying case from my optometrist's office yesterday. It's not something I needed but I think it's super cute and will be a great when I travel.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Do not adjust your screen you are reading the numbers correctly, it really is 99 degrees. I took this picture at 5:25 pm and only wish I had taken a picture when I went out around 2:15 pm. At that point it was even hotter, at 104 degrees. Too hot for late September.

The New Couch Has Arrived

Our new couch arrived this afternoon and we are all happy about it. Especially Callie.

Clash Of The Titans

Ted, his dad, and I watched Clash of the Titans last night. I feel asleep about an hour into the movie but the past I saw prior to falling asleep wasn't that bad. Ted said it was a decent movie; better than the crappy reviews it received.

Happy Feet

My in-laws got these toe socks for me and they make my feet happy.

Waiting For The Northbound Train

Ted's dad is arriving this evening from San Marcos. Here is my shadow, and Ted in the distance, at the Goleta train station waiting for his train to arrive.

Smarties And Discount Movies

Smarties and discount movie tickets. Another thank you from the American Heart Association (AHA) for my company's support of the AHA Heart Walk in October.

Atlas 5

Last night the Atlas 5 spacecraft was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base. We couldn't see much but I did take a few pictures and in this picture you can just barely see the flame from the tail of the rocket on the middle of the shot.

Adam

Ted and I watched Adam last night. It was a sweet love story. Even though the ending was slightly different than what I expected I enjoyed it.

Happy Cat

Sneaky Callie snuck into the guest room downstairs and very happily took a nap on the comforter.

Dodgers Versus Rockies

Even though the Dodgers lost we had a great time today. We met Ted's cousins Edward and Arthur and their respective girlfriends Stacy and Saori at Dodgers' stadium to watch the Dodgers play the Colorado Rockies. After the game we had dinner at Kyo Chon, which serves Korean style fried chicken. So delicious.
Picture #1: Stacy and Edward.
Picture #2: Beth, Ted, Arthur and Saori.
Picture #3: At one point the Dodgers had the bases loaded. Unfortunately the Rockies made a double play and the Dodgers didn't make any runs.
Picture #4: Ted, Beth, Saori, Arthur, Stacy, Edward. Ted and I rocked our new Dodger gear.

Cecilia Martner

Ted's co-worker's wife, Cecilia Martner, is running for Mayor of Lompoc. Ted supports Cecilia and agreed to have a campaign sign placed in our yard. When we arrived home this evening the sign was there.

Gotta Love Gift Cards

I stopped by Borders this afternoon after work. I have two old Borders' gift cards but I didn't think they had any money left on them. Not only did they have enough to buy these three books but there's even $26 left over. It was a nice surprise.

Up, Up And Away

My parents left for a European vacation this evening. I'm so jealous of their trip but I know they will have a fantastic time.

Exciting Engagement

Ted's cousin Edward just got engaged to his girlfriend (now fiancee) Stacy. We are going to see them next weekend and we got this engagement card for them. We are so happy for them both.

Brand New Costco Card

My department is hosting a lunch and learn tomorrow so I went to Costco this afternoon to pick up a few items for our meeting. When I arrived at Costco I realized I had lost my Costco card. I thought it was going to be a hassle getting a new one but much to my surprise I had a brand new card with a brand new picture of me on the back.

Archive Madness

I finished archiving all of our digital pictures from the last two years. It took 10 disks to hold all of our photos. They are now going in the fire safe box for safe keeping.

I Heart Nerds

I bought these from one of my coworkers yesterday. Her daughter is selling candy for a school fundraiser.

Lost... Finally

Ted and I watched the final episode of Lost this evening. Only three months after it originally aired. I don't care what critics say I like the way the show ended. Granted there are a lot of unanswered questions but who cares. I think the ending made sense. Now I can close the book on Lost.

Masterpieces From The Musee D'Orsay

My coworker Racel visited a museum in San Francisco last weekend that hosted a special exhibit of impressionism and post-impressionism paintings from the Musee D'Orsay, a museum that is being renovated. Racel and I have discussed our appreciation for different types of art so she brought in a postcard book she purchased for me to look through. Ted and I are going to San Francisco in a few weeks. Perhaps we will have the opportunity to check out some of these paintings in person.

My coworker Racel visited her youngest son in San Francisco last weekend and she brought back Ghiradelli squares to share.

Labor Day Fun

Since we had the day off Ted and I decided to go to lunch and see a movie. I completely underestimated how many restaurants would be closed for Labor Day so after striking out at Tom's Burgers and Alfie's Fish and Chips we settled on Wendy's. After lunch we saw Machete. Ted picked the movie and I have to admit I liked it a lot more than I expected to.

BBQ For Two

Ted grilled out today. Steak for him chicken for me. It was the perfect BBQ for two.

Speed Reader

I've been reading so much lately I was afraid I would run out things to read so I stopped by the library this afternoon to pick up a few more books.

Hot Tub Time Machine

Ted and I watched Hot Tub Time Machine this evening. I didn't have a high expectation for this movie and I have to say my low expectation was blown away. I think I appreciate it because it was set in the mid 1980s so I could identify with a lot of the references. Really funny movie.

Every Pepsi Refreshes The World

Ted received this t-shirt for buying a certain number of cases of Pepsi products. For a promotional item it's not that bad. Another t-shirt for Ted to add to the rotation.

Wyoming

My friend Pat and her daughter Corrie went to Jackson, WY to visit Pat's son (Corrie's brother) Brian. Pat brought these gifts back for me and Ted. For Ted a toothpick holder, for me a magnet, and Corrie bought me a key chain. Super thoughtful of both Pat and Corrie.
