Drag Me To Hell

In observance that today is Halloween Ted and I watched Drag Me to Hell last night. We didn't find the story particularly scary but it seemed an appropriate movie to watch the day before Halloween.

The Day Before Halloween

Halloween is a big deal at my company and we had a costume and a decorating contest. We also had a fabulous Italian themed potluck. As if I didn't eat too much at lunch we met Carolyn, Vince, and Ilaria for dinner at the Elephant Bar. Ilaria wore reversible pants (with candy corn on one side and stars on the other side) her grandmother made for her and she had a pretty yellow bow in her hair.
Picture #1: Ted, Ilaria, and Beth at dinner. This picture is out of order but I can't figure out how to put it at the end.
Pictures #2-5: Pictures of costumes and decorations at my office.

I received this coupon for a free choose 2 combo from Quiznos. This is the perfect combination for me because I love things that are free and I love to eat. Thank you Quiznos.

My Dad

My mom emailed me this picture of my dad today. I can't figure out how to make it larger so the proportions make the picture look funky. If you could view it in normal size you would be able to see it's a great picture of my dad taken backstage during his choral ensemble's concert last Saturday.

Procrastination

I'm not able to change the orientation of this picture so upside down it is. I procrastinated all weekend and did not get my class reading done. Fortunately it was a semi-quiet day at work today and I found time to read so my homework for Thursday is mostly complete. Even more fortunate for me, the reading for this Thursday's class is directly related to a current work project so I killed two birds with one stone. I love that!

Coraline

Ted is a huge fan of graphic novelist Neil Gaiman. Tonight we watched the movie adaptation of Gaiman's short story Coraline. The movie was much better than I expected and I actually enjoyed it.

401k Conference Swag

I attended a 401k conference today and received a lot of goodies. The one I'm most excited about is the hand crank powered flashlight. This will come in handy when the power goes out.

I went to our Westlake Village office today and it was a beautiful day to be out. These are two pictures I snapped on my drive back to Goleta.

Callie's Nose

Callie has a piece of kitty litter on her nose and she's tired of me trying to get it off, thus the less than happy look on her face.

Happy Birthday Ted

It's Ted's birthday so I took him to his favorite restaurant, Madam Lu, for dinner. While we were eating our nephew Brandon called and sang "Happy Birthday" to Ted in Korean. Very cute!

Cute As A Button

I stopped in to see Carolyn and Ilaria after work today. Ilaria is as cute as a button and I was very impressed by how well she sits up all by herself and by how much she loves to stand up.

Needlepoint

I love going to my parents' house because I never know what items from my childhood I will find. This trip I found these four needlepoint pictures my mom made for me and my sister when we were young.

Callie's Home... And Our Luggage Is Too

We picked up Callie from the vet this morning and she has already reclaimed many of her favorite spots at home. When I went to get her from her cage at the vet there was a sign on her cage that said, "Killer Cat." I know Callie can be a little aggressive sometimes, but killer cat?!? That seems a bit much. On another bright note, our luggage was found and delivered to our house this morning. Thank you Northwest Airlines!

We're Going Back to Cali (I Hope Our Luggage Does Too)

We flew back to California today. Fortunately all of our flights were smooth and we only had a slight delay with our flight from Raleigh to Detroit. Regardless of the delay we landed in Santa Barbara right on schedule. Unfortunately our luggage was not so lucky. When we arrived in Santa Barbara we learned our luggage had not arrived. After several calls to the airline it was determined no one knew where our luggage was. We filed a delayed luggage report and are hoping for the best.

North Carolina: Day Three

It's our last day in North Carolina and we definitely had a full day. Ted and I took advantage of more beautiful weather and spent time at Reynolda Gardens this afternoon. After that we helped my parents prepare for a family dinner with Me-Maw, my sister, Quincy, and Quincy's parents. After dinner Ted and I went to Suzie and Quincy's house to meet their cat Zeus and their puppy Moka. We've had a great time visiting family and we are excited about going home, but it is always sad for me to say goodbye to my family.

North Carolina: Day Two

Today we had beautiful North Carolina weather. The sun was shinning, the sky was blue, and the temperature was about 80 degrees. Perfect weather day. This morning Ted and I went for a walk at the Parcourse. For lunch my parents and I took Ted to Little Richard's for North Carolina style bar-b-que.
