Magazines For The (Still) Sick

I know everyone is tired of hearing it (believe me, no one more than me), but I'm STILL SICK. I am feeling better but still not 100%. I really thought I would feel great this weekend and would have the chance to do some of the things I've put off the last three weeks I've been sick, but to no avail. Unfortunately my sick behind stayed home today. My ever so thoughtful husband bought me more magazines today to keep me busy. As much as I've enjoyed reading gossip magazines over the last few weeks I would gladly not read one for a while in exchange for feeling 100%.

Taxes And Dinner At Zaytoon

Ted and I met with our CPA this afternoon to file our 2008 tax returns. After our meeting we had dinner at Zaytoon, a middle eastern restaurant in Santa Barbara. Zaytoon did not disappoint and dinner was as delicious as usual. The first picture is of the table where we sat the first time our parents met. The Wednesday before we got married in March 2008, Ted and I took our families to eat at Zaytoon since it is one of our favorite places.

The Last Of The Mohicans

I watched this movie on HBO today and Ted reminded me he has the DVD. I love this movie, even more so because it was filmed in NC. The scenery reminds me so much of where I grew up.

The Manhattans

I heard one of my favorite songs, Kiss and Say Goodbye, by The Manhattans on the radio today. It prompted me to get out my Manhattans CD and listen to it. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of R&B music, but I do love The Manhattans.

Burn After Reading

Ted and I were going to watch this movie tonight but we are too pooped! Perhaps tomorrow night.

Sudafed PE

After almost two weeks of trying different cold remedies, my husband bought me Sudafed PE last Saturday. It has been a godsend. Even though I'm still not 100% better I am feeling better than I have in two weeks.

Kissing Fish

Carol and Adam gave me this t-shirt they won in a limbo contest at their resort in St. Lucia. They were in St. Lucia for their honeymoon. I think the kissing fish are hilarious.

AJ Spurs

Ted's dad treated us to dinner at AJ Spurs this evening. Ted's dad loves steak but since it is so expensive in Korea he doesn't eat it very often. Whenever he comes to visit we have steak at least once. In the first picture is Adam, Carol, U-Chon, Ted, Beth. The second picture is Carol, Ted, and their dad chowing down on ribs. The third picture is me beside the stuffed bison in the lobby.

*These pictures were taken on 1/24/2009 but were not posted until 1/25/2009.

Korean Fortune

Ted's dad brought us copies of our Korean fortunes for 2009. According to this account I will have good fortune in 2009.

Lunch With The Ladies

Today I had lunch at Rusty's Pizza with a group of ladies from work. We were celebrating Celia's pregnancy by looking at pictures and a video from her last ultrasound. The pictures and ultrasound are in 3-D so you really get a great view of the baby. Pictured in the first picture are: Beth, Celia, Debra, Su, Melanie, Cheryl, Latice. Pictured in the second picture are: Araceli, Celia, Debra, Su, Melanie, Cheryl, Latice.

Coco Chanel

Ted's dad bought me this Coco Chanel perfume for my birthday. It's a bit early since he won't be here on my actual birthday. Ted's parents are extremely thoughtful in remembering birthdays. Now I will smell super yummy!

Houseguest Tomorrow

Ted's dad arrives from Korea tomorrow to stay with us for a few days. Ted and I both pitched in to get his room ready.

Still Sick

In a very lame (pseudo) attempt to get better I went out yesterday evening and bought Luden's throat drops. I know logically they are only candy and have no medicinal powers whatsoever but they are so yummy. I'm convinced they are doing my throat more harm than good. I guess I should stop eating them.

Sweet Hereafter

Ted and I watched Sweet Hereafter this evening. It was not at all what I expected and I did not enjoy it at all.

Magazines

I can't remember the last time I felt crappy for this length of time. I don't think I have the flu, but whatever I have is not letting go. Ted bought me some fun reading material today since I'm too sick to go anywhere.

New Books

I was supposed to visit my friends in northern CA this weekend, however I am sick so I decided to stay home. In preparation for my trip I went to the library Wednesday evening to pick out some new books. I'm disappointed I won't get to see my friends this weekend but I am happy that I have new books to read while I'm sick.

In-N-Out

Thursday is class night. Since I wasn't feeling well I treated myself to In-N-Out for dinner. Even when I'm sick In-N-Out is delicious.

Callie

I stayed home sick today. I was hoping Callie would be snugly since I wasn't feeling well. My hopes did not come true. My being home did not interrupt her day of sleeping.

Leatherheads

Ted and I have been trying to watch this movie for several days now. Perhaps tonight is the night.

Fun Magazines

I truly have the most thoughtful husband. In addition to the beautiful tulips he bought me on Saturday, he also bought me my favorite "escape" reading. What can I say, I enjoy reading the celebrity gossip.

Callie's New Love

Our friends Carolyn and Vince graciously gave us a kitty bed their cat, Mu, is no longer using. I brought it home last Thursday and Callie has barely left it. She immediately gravitated toward the bed once we put it on the ground and she has been happily sleeping in it ever since. Look how peaceful she looks in the second picture. Thank you, Carolyn and Vince!

Cheerful Tulips

I was in an extremely crabby mood all day today. Ted bought me these gorgeous flowers to help cheer me up. I hope I climb out of this funk soon!

The Taj Cafe

Ted and I met our friends Carolyn and Vince for dinner this evening at The Taj Cafe in Santa Barbara. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures once Carolyn and Vince arrived (sigh), but I did take these pictures of the restaurant before dinner.

New Semester

This evening was my first class for the winter semester. After taking the last semester off I thought it would be hard to get back into the swing of classes but tonight wasn't that bad. Of course I say that now. We'll see what I think after week #7.

The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till

I watched The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till this evening. It is a heart-wrenching story, but to be perfectly honest I thought the documentary left much to be desired.

Happy Birthday Suzie!

Today is my sister's birthday. Unfortunately I was not able to see her today since we live 3000 miles apart, however I definitely sent lots of birthday wishes her way. I thought I would share a few pictures of my sister and me. The first two pictures were taken at my wedding in March 2008. The third picture was taken in February 2007 when I was visiting family in NC. Happy birthday, Suzie!

Norman

This flyer for the lost ferret, Norman, was in our mailbox when we got home this evening. It makes me so sad that Norman is lost and I hope his family finds him soon. I just hope I don't run across him because I am not particularly fond of ferrets. They are stinky!

Disaster Preparedness Kit

By far my favorite gift this Christmas is the disaster preparedness kit I received from Ted. Here I am holding up a roll of toilet paper and a light stick while modeling one of the face masks. Believe it or not this is exactly what I asked for.

*This picture was taken on 12/26/2008.

Christmas Books

Ted bought me a Borders gift card for Christmas. I made my first purchase the other day. I love new books.

Fuzzy Callie

I was trying to take pictures of Callie this evening but she wasn't having it. I call this picture "Fuzzy Callie" because she would not stay still long enough for me to take a good clear picture.

Hello 2009

I feel it is fitting to feature a picture of my brand new calendar as today is the first day of 2009. Happy new year's day everyone! I hope we all make it a great year.
