I drove to Raleigh yesterday to visit my good friend Mavis. Before I headed back to Winston-Salem we snapped some pictures.

I May Have Set A Record

I try and eat at Bojangle's at least once every time I go to North Carolina and I think I set a record by eating Bojangle's twice in two days. I had it for lunch yesterday and for lunch today. It was as delicious as ever.

Me-Maw's Birthday Party

We celebrated Me-Maw's 95th birthday this afternoon with a small family party. In attendance were my parents John and Katey; aunt Mary and uncle Earl; Me-Maw's brother Dave and his wife Phyllis; uncle Paul and his wife Linda; Kathy and Gwen; Me-Maw; and me.

Fly, Fly Away

I flew out of Santa Barbara this morning on my way to North Carolina. My first stop was LA and I was interested to see how the Santa Barbara landscape differs so much from LA. As much as I enjoy urban living there is something to be said about the beauty of California's central coast.

Three Pickles Deli

I guess the new thing is for restaurants to provide free stickers to customers. Ted and I ate lunch at Three Pickles today and I snagged a free sticker. Not sure what I'm going to do with it but I will figure something out.

I recently read a book by John Hart and I like his writing style so I bought two more of his books for my trip to NC later this week.

Shrek Forever After 3D

I used my free movie coupon this evening and I saw Shrek Forever After 3D. The movie was okay but not nearly as good as the first one.

Precious

I watched Precious last week and it was not as a good as I had anticipated. The acting was good but I wasn't blown away. Lenny Kravitz and Mariah Carey both played their parts well.

Callie's Towel

Leave it to Callie to find interesting places to relax. I threw this towel on the floor near the laundry room as a reminder it needed to be washed. Next thing I know Callie has decided it is a nice resting place.

Nice... Nice

Our friends Bryce and Nicole are vacationing in France and they sent us this postcard from Nice. There hotel is on the far left of the postcard picture. It must be nice.

Farewell Lunch

Today was Jessica's going away/baby shower lunch. She will be missed but I am excited for her as she embarks on a new journey in her life.

Barcelona

My coworker Racel went to Barcelona with her sister and two of her sons. I spent a semester abroad in Spain during college and I had the opportunity to travel to Barcelona. Before Racel left I had a great time talking with her about her upcoming trip and recommending places to go and things to see. She brought me this magnet which incorporates a lot of the major architectural landmarks in Barcelona. It brings back wonderful memories of the time I spent there.

Pampered Chef

My coworker Celia had a Pampered Chef party. I was not able to attend the party but I did purchase these bamboo bowls. I plan to use them as a chip and dip set.

Biltmore Estate

Ted and I are going to North Carolina for my sister's wedding. My sister is getting married in Asheville and while we are there Ted and I are going to visit the Biltmore Estate. I purchased our tickets this evening and was able to print them out so we are all set for our visit.

Callie's Mouse

So the indoor grass we bought Callie didn't go over well. She ended up being sick for two days so we had to come up with a new gift for her. Ted bought her this mouse that has a pouch that holds catnip and so far Callie loves it.

Jennifer's Body

Ted and I watched Jennifer's Body last night. Ted thought it was a horror movie but it wasn't so much horror as horrible.

Callie loves to sneak outside and eat grass so Ted bought her this cat grass and after letting it grow for about 2 weeks we gave it to her tonight. She immediately went to town and starting chomping on her grass.

Ilaria In Motion

I stopped in to see Carolyn and Ilaria today and was amazed by Ilaria's agility and mobility, and of course her precious face. She is super confident on her feet and was motoring around the whole time I was there.

Vegas Baby Vegas

Well, at least a Vegas pen. My co-worker Dan went to Vegas two weeks ago and brought pens back for several people at work. Very thoughtful guy.

New Costco Book

This book was an impulse buy when I went to Costco this afternoon. Hopefully I will be able to hold off reading it and will save it for my flight to NC in a few weeks.

New Library Books

Saturday was library day. I can't think of the words to express how happy I am there is place where you can borrow books for free. Everyone should do it.

Early Morning

Ted and I were woken up at 6:00 this morning courtesy of a hungry cat so we decided to take advantage of our early rise and walk to the Budget Cafe for breakfast. Along the way we were treated to beautiful views and faux wildlife. I guess this is what we miss by sleeping in on the weekends.

Scratch And Sniff Part Three

Ted sent me these beautiful flowers at work yesterday. The picture does not do the brilliance of the colors and the beauty of the arrangement justice. They are phenomenal.

Scratch And Sniff Part Deux

When I got to my office this morning it not only smelled heavenly but the roses had opened up and looked even more beautiful than they did yesterday. I felt their beauty deserved another day on my blog.

Scratch And Sniff

One of my co-workers brought me these roses from her garden as a thank you for some work I've been helping her with. They are so fragrant it makes my office smell like a rose garden. I wish my blog had a scratch and sniff feature so everyone could experience their beautiful fragrance.

I Heart Louisa's Place

Ted and I didn't get many souvenirs from our trip to SLO but I did pick up this free sticker from Louisa's Place where we ate breakfast Saturday morning. Free is my favorite price.

My Palm Pre Has Arrived

I'm so excited my Palm Pre is here! I feel very cool being able to check email, facebook, my blog, etc. from my phone.

Shooting Star

I received a shooting star today for my participation in my company's shred event last Friday. Along with the shooting star certificate I also received this very cool post-it note pad.

Kick Ass

Ted and I saw Kick Ass this afternoon. It is not at all what I expected (I thought it was a movie for kids... it isn't). It was actually really good; much funnier and darker with a lot more action (read violence) than I expected.

Shred Event

My company hosted a shred event in Goleta yesterday and I helped out by greeting people and signing them in. It was a nice change of pace to be out of the office for a few hours and I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet many of our customers.
